Every Saturday & Sunday night from 6pm until midnight.
After 20 years on Newcastle radio you can tune in to Carter across the Super Radio Network – every Saturday & Sunday evening from 6 until midnight with six hours of talkback, tunes and chuckles as he talks to his audience that is scattered across New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania and the Northern Territory. A potential 7 million listeners!
Carter’s on-going domination of the ratings in his 6 hour Sunday night time slot showed he had a legion of loyal listeners right from the start, which meant he became very much in demand with Advertisers looking to drive their dollars further.
Carter is famous within the industry as an on-air personality who can put his show together “on the fly”. Nothing is planned in advance and in fact he is the only Network host who goes to air with a blank Program Sheet. “Make it flow and just let it go” is the adage Carter lives by. It works well with his live performances and works equally well on air.

Way back in 1988 Carter was tricked into an on air audition for Radio 2HD Newcastle. Before he knew it he was hosting ‘Carter Edwards Country’. A six hour show on the station every Sunday night.
In 2005 Carter’s incredible radio achievements were recognised when he was inducted into the Broadcasters Hall of Fame by the CMAA.
Australia Day 2012 at Tamworth Country Music Festival Carter won the “Peoples Choice Award” for the Most Popular Radio DJ.
Across two decades Carter has seen multiple changes of Program Directors, Chief Executive Officers and Station owners. He’s seen them come and he’s seen them go but Carter is the only one who is still on air and his radio career continues to go from strength to strength.
